In the early morning of May 20, a major fire destroyed a large section of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society shelter. They lost their entire cat sheltering area as well as laundry facilities and offices. They are currently without water, electricity and phone service. They also lost 15 beautiful cats that were ready for adoption but all the dogs survived and are being cared for in kennels and at a veterinary emergency service. IMMEDIATE NEEDS ARE: Monetary donations. Any amount will help. Hit any DONATE button on the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society website: or mail donations to: Foster Homes for dogs and cats.
