A volunteer-based project providing free veterinary care for the
companion animals of homeless San Franciscans

Donate to VETSOS

VET SOS began offering services to homeless people and their pets in 2001, using a $1000 start-up grant. Since then, all medical supplies and operating expenses are donated. VET SOS would like to expand its services but needs your help in order to do that.

Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society Shelter Fire PDF Print E-mail

Berkeley Fire

In the early morning of May 20, a major fire destroyed a large section of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society shelter. They lost their entire cat sheltering area as well as laundry facilities and offices. They are currently without water, electricity and phone service. They also lost 15 beautiful cats that were ready for adoption but all the dogs survived and are being cared for in kennels and at a veterinary emergency service.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS ARE:

Monetary donations. Any amount will help. Hit any DONATE button on the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society website:
http://www.berkeleyhumane.org/

or mail donations to:
BEBHS, 2700 9th St, Berkeley, CA 94710

Volunteers. In the immediate future, the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society will have major cleaning and repair tasks as well as animal care. Please contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you can spare some time to help once the tasks are organized. Their only communication until utilities are restored will be the website and email.  We will post updates of there needs on the website as they assess the situation. The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society wants to get back to helping the community with homeless pets just as they have done since 1927. They desperately need your help in this crisis, especially with donations, to get going again.  They can only do it with your help.
